These terms cover text messages (SMS and MMS) from Flat Rate Water Softeners. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy (/privacy) and Terms of Use (/terms).
What you will receive
Messages about your enquiry and your work: quote follow-ups, appointment confirmations and reminders, a heads-up when our technician is on the way, service and maintenance reminders, salt delivery notices, and replies to messages you send us. Some replies may come from an automated assistant. If you agreed to receive them, we may also send occasional offers.
How you agree to receive texts
You opt in by ticking the consent box on one of our website forms, by texting us first, or by asking us to text you on a call or at an appointment. The wording beside the box on our forms is:
"I agree that Flat Rate Water Softeners may call and text me at the number I provided about my quote and appointment, including messages and calls made using automated technology and an artificial or AI-generated voice. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help."
Consent to receive texts is not a condition of buying anything from us.
Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies with your appointments and requests, and is usually a few messages per job. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan. We do not send marketing texts late at night or early in the morning in your time zone.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT also work. We will send one message confirming that you are unsubscribed, and nothing after it. Reply START to opt back in.
Help
Reply HELP to any message for help, or use the details on our Contact page (/contact).
Carriers
Supported on major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the messaging providers that deliver the messages on our behalf. See our Privacy Policy (/privacy) for everything else.
Eligibility and changes
You must be at least 18 and the account holder for the mobile number, or have the account holder’s permission. If you change or give up your number, please reply STOP first or tell us, so its next owner does not receive your messages. We may change these terms or end the program; the date at the top shows when this page last changed.
